The Singular Flawed Beauty
of an Artist’s Touch
Born of a shared love of design, husband and wife team Eric Penderleith and Megan Ross combine their backgrounds of millwork and fashion to create POEM NY, a collection of one-of-a-kind hand carved wooden handbags.
Every step of production is meticulously completed by hand in the Hudson Valley. Eric carves each bag by hand, and Megan finishes each bag in her studio. Cords and tassels are sourced from a family-run company in New York City.
Megan and Eric’s goal is to work in collaboration with other local artisans and to celebrate a return to slow fashion. Each handbag is unique and made to order with sustainable wood in Hudson, New York. No animal products are used in the creation of the bags.
Drawing inspiration from a mix of 70’s disco and bohemia, 80’s glamour and 90’s minimalism, our handbags are designed to be draped across the body or worn long and low on your hip.
The slinky cord and tassels paired with the hand carved wood creates a balance that allows the bags the versatility to pair as perfectly with jeans and a t-shirt as it does with a sexy minimalist evening look.
